OCD and Its Emotional Cause

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a condition in which a person feels driven to repeat certain thoughts or perform certain routines again and again. These routines are often called rituals. Some people repeat actions. Others repeat thoughts. Many do both. Most sufferers know that the behaviour does not make sense, yet they feel unable to stop it for more than a short time.

OCD is often linked with fear, anxiety and a sense of being overwhelmed. Some people experience intrusive thoughts that they cannot switch off. Others feel compelled to carry out actions until they feel a sense of relief. The relief is temporary. The cycle then begins again. For some, the condition becomes so intense that it affects their relationships, their work and their ability to live a normal life.

Although the exact cause is unknown, certain emotional experiences are often found at the root of the problem. A history of childhood stress, emotional neglect, criticism, abuse or any event that creates fear or uncertainty can leave a deep imprint on the subconscious mind. The person grows up believing that something bad will happen unless they control their thoughts or their environment. The rituals become a way of trying to feel safe.

Whatever the original cause, the result is always the same. OCD is driven by negative emotions. Fear, worry, guilt, shame, doubt and the constant feeling that something is wrong. These emotions sit beneath the rituals. The rituals are only the symptom. The emotions are the cause.

When the emotional load has been reset, the rituals lose their power. The mind no longer feels the need to repeat thoughts or actions in order to feel safe. The emotional load that once drove the behaviour disappears.

With Rone®, the emotional load that fuels OCD can be removed in one session. Once the emotional load has gone, the mind becomes calm. The compulsions lose their force. The person begins to feel in control again. They also learn how to remove any future emotional load within minutes, which prevents the old patterns from returning.

Many people spend years trying to manage OCD through willpower alone. They try to resist the thoughts or fight the rituals, but the subconscious mind always wins. When the emotional load is reset, the struggle ends. The person is no longer fighting themselves. They simply return to who they truly are.
